So this week we went to MissionsFest!
MissionsFest is the biggest missions conference in Canada, possibly North America, not sure. There is a grand exhibition of organizations that come out and have presentation booths to represent their ministries and try and coerce people into getting involved. There are also seminars throughout the weekend put on by the people running different ministries. They will talk about their ministry or teach you something about what they have learned over the course of their ministry.
Anyhow, we went as a big group to this wonderful thing. My parents came to visit and also partake in it which was great and made for a wonderful weekend. It was a huge blend of having them there which was delightful on top of a weekend to take a lot in and learn and be challenged.
So the story of my weekend goes like this, I was meandering throughout the myriad of booths looking for a mission to leap out at me and whisk me off to some adventure of serving God. Ah, to no avail. But as I was on my promenade through the maze of exhibitions, a thought came into my head: I have an absolute love for Japan! So off I go with a new outlook and a new fire in my eyes. I came across Send International http://www.send.org/japan/index.htm and WEC (Worldwide Evangelization for Christ) http://www.wec-japan.org/ which both had really great things to see and look into. I decided that I was going to commit to pray for Japan and what the Lord is doing there which was exciting. Then to top that excitement I found another booth which I have signed up for a book called, something to the effect of, 31 Days of prayer for Japan!
So I'm not sure what the time frame for all of this is, but am looking into God's work in Japan and
if and where I'll fit into it all. So that's what I'm praying about.
This week we have another Theology class on Tuesday which is a bit of a mind melt but is really interesting. I quite like theology. Instead of a week of Theology, it's spread over 5 weeks, one day a week. Wednesday, we'll be performing our best to not die as we careen down the hills of Mount Washington. In the midst of all this, we have to read the entirety of a 300 page textbook and the four gospels by Friday. Not that I'm complaining...
Prayer requests: that I can stay awake long enough to get through my textbook because I think someone laced each page with tranquilizers. That we'll be safe as we rocket down a hill of snow. And just that I will be supplied with wisdom about my future.
many blessings!

And then there was the beginning...
Hello everyone. I'm mostly creating this blog so that I get a good mark but I suppose it will suffice as a good lil' "what's up?" for anyone who wants to know the going's on of my days.
So from the top, for anyone that didn't see me or hear from me lately. I'm living on Vancouver island in beautiful British Columbia. I am now attending Kaleo which is a Christian leadership course put on by Briercrest. So I'm coming in halfway which is a long, long story but pretty much God just opened the doors that needed to be opened and here I am.
So I've had one class, Pentateuch which was AWESOME! We had to read through the bible to Joshua and then had a weeklong 9-5 course that went really intensively into the story and the connections throughout and connections to the New Testament. We had an exam the next week and now I have a paper due in two days which I'm frantically working on.
We had a week long stay at a chalet on Mt Washington which was absolutely fabulous. I snowboarded my little heart out. We had a day of snowshoeing and tubing which was also a good time.
So here I sit. Working hard, playing harder and fitting in and doing my best to honor God and grow in Him to be more like Christ!
More to follow!
